SARAJEVO, March 12 (Hina) - The bishop of Banja Luka and president of Bosnia-Herzegovina's Bishops' Conference, Msgr. Franjo Komarica, on Saturday warned senior OSCE officials that there was a policy aimed at cementing the effects of ethnic cleansing campaigns that were carried out during and at the end of the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The BK BiH Catholic press agency reported that Komarica met in Sarajevo with OSCE Mission head in the country, Douglas Davidson, and Belgium's permanent representative at the OSCE, Bertrand de Crombrughe, who is visiting the country as part of preparations by his country to take over the chairmanship of the OSCE.

Komarica reiterated that there were only 6,838 Catholics in the 32 parishes of his diocese, and that only slightly more than 5,000 Catholics lived in the other 32 parishes on the territory of the Bosnian Serb entity.

Komarica stated that there was a campaign to obstruct the return of Catholics to their pre-war homes.

OSCE Mission head Davidson asked Komarica to submit reports on problems regarding the return of refugees and property repossession, so that the OSCE could start dealing with the problem.
