ZAGREB, March 18 (Hina) - Croatia was welcomed to the Francophone
Community as an observer country at a ceremony held in Zagreb on Friday
evening. The ceremony was held as part of the event Days of Francophony in
Croatia. The decision to grant Croatia observer status was adopted
at the 10th summit of the Francophone Community last year. The Community has 49
members, 10 observers and four associate members. Today's welcome ceremony was
organised by the French Embassy and the Croatian Foreign and European
Integration Ministry.
Croatian President Stjepan Mesic was among the numerous guests who
attended the event.
