To facilitate this plan, the Croatian government on Thursday agreed that relevant ministries should start talks with the EU on participation in those programmes.
Since 2004 Croatia has had the opportunity to take part in 25 EC programmes and it has shown interest in nine, a state secretary at the Foreign Ministry, Marija Pejcinovic Buric, told reporters after today's government session.
Along with the said programmes, Croatia would also join projects on intelligent energy, employment, customs service, taxation, transportation systems, and the development of information and communication technology.
Fees for participation in those programmes range between 30,000 to 10 million euros.
Pejcinovic Buric said that 75 percent of the required funds could be obtained from the PHARE programme, while the remaining 25 percent would be provided by the government.
