Speaking on Slovene state television, he was responding to criticism from the centre-right opposition which said he unreservedly supported launching Croatia-EU entry talks as soon as possible, thus departing from the majority opinion within the Union.
Jansa said his government had not changed the position towards Croatia in relation to previous governments.
"We've always supported Croatia's European Union integration, ever since it expressed such aspirations," he said, adding this had also been the official position of previous governments, except briefly during last year's parliamentary elections, when ex-PM Anton Rop said Slovenia could no longer support Croatia due to a border incident.
"Our support is not unconditional. Croatia must meet the terms like all the other states. But it would be unfair to demand that Croatia meet terms that had not been set to other countries or if these terms disguised some other concepts," said Jansa.
