Proposals to ban work on Sundays, abortion, medically assisted conception and insistence on new Croatian spelling rules are some of the most evident politically motivated conservative views on these problems, the party said in a statement.
The statement said that the state should promote democratisation of society by regulating social relations and that it should not interfere in private and personal affairs of citizens by imposing bans.
The DC said that governments in democratic and civic societies have the obligation to ensure the right and possibility of citizens to choose in all areas of private and social life, to guarantee this right by law and to protect it from being abused.
The DC is led by the Minister of Justice, Vesna Skare Ozbolt.
