ZAGREB, July 6 (Hina) - Deputies Bozidar Pankretic, Zeljko Pecek
and Ante Markov on Friday withdrew from the supervisory committees of the
Hrvatske Sume public company, the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and
Development (HBOR) and the Croatian Privatisation Fund (HFP), adding that they
expected other opposition parties and "at least some members of the ruling
party" to to withdraw from supervisory committees of public companies and other
institutions, the HSS said in a statement. The three HSS deputies
decided to withdraw from the supervisory committees after the parliamentary
majority dismissed their conclusion submitted last week in parliament during a
discussion on a vote of no-confidence in government over the Privatisation Fund
scandal, asking that all state officials withdraw from supervisory committees
of all public companies and institutions,
The HSS also proposed the shutting down of the Privatisation Fund, the
setting up of an agency that would manage state property and new legal
solutions for the privatisation process, corruption, public and private
partnership. The HSS also asked that all privatisation process be frozen until
the conclusion is implemented.
."Given that the conclusion was dismissed, the HSS deputies designed to
withdraw from the supervisory committees," the party said in a statement.
