ZAGREB, June 11 (Hina) - Social Democratic Party president Zoran Milanovic on Monday addressed the SDP Main Committee for the first time since he became party president a week ago, stressing that "an election victory is the SDP's only
mission" and that the party would focus on its best people and programmes to secure victory at a parliamentary election due later this year.

Milanovic on Monday addressed the SDP Main Committee for the first time since
he became party president a week ago, stressing that "an election victory is
the SDP's only mission" and that the party would focus on its best people and
programmes to secure victory at a parliamentary election due later this
year. The committee adopted without debate a list of party
officials, proposed by Milanovic, to head SDP slates in eight out of ten
constituencies, while a decision on constituencies 1 and 4 would be made in the
autumn.
Milan Bandic will top the SDP slate in constituency 2, Ljubo Jurcic in
constituency 3, Igor Dragovan in constituency 5, Tonino Picula in constituency
6, Milanka Opacic in constituency 7, Zlatko Komadina in constituency 8, Ranko
Ostojic in constituency 9, and Zeljka Antunovic in constituency 10.
Milanovic said he had agreed to chair the National Committee for EU
Membership Talks, the post previously held by the late SDP leader Ivica
Racan.
