ZAGREB, June 26 (Hina) - The election-monitoring nongovernmental
organisation known by its Croatian acronym GONG said on Tuesday that some
parliamentary parties had not published their annual financial reports on their
websites, as proscribed by the law on the financing of political parties,
independent slates and candidates. According to the Parliamentary
Committee on the Constitution, the Rule Book and the Political System, whose
opinion GONG requested, the said regulation applies to all political
parties.
"Given that only four parliamentary parties have so far published their
financial reports for 2006 (the Istrian Democratic Party, the Croatian Peasant
Party, the Croatian People's Party and the Social Democrats), all other
parliamentary parties are clearly violating the law," GONG said.
