Skare Ozbolt told a news conference in Zagreb on Thursday that this motion was prompted by media reports that PM Sanader wears a wristwatch of an estimated value of over 20,000 euros and that he also possesses another one valued at 10,000 euros.
The DC chief seems to be irritated by the fact that Sanader had declared the possession of a 20-year old car whose value is several times lower than that of the watches.
DC secretary-general Vladimir Novotny said that one can only wonder how the prime minister managed to buy a 140,000 kuna wristwatch if his income is about 20,000 kuna.
If he registered an old car in his declaration of assets, it is logical to expect him to have declared the possession of valuable items such as his wristwatches, Novotny added.
