GOSPIC, Dec 22 (Hina) - The leader of the ruling Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ), Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, has said that he
is dissatisfied with the decision of the Zagreb City Assembly to name a square
in a western part of the city after the first president of Croatia, Franjo
Tudjman. Speaking at the party's Christmas concert in the town of
Gospic on Friday evening, Sanader conceded that the area around what is called
'Rudolfova Vojarna" has historical meaning for the HDZ party, as it was where
the party held a magnificent rally before its victory at the elections in the
spring of 1990.
Nevertheless, as the first Croatian President, Franjo Tudjman deserves
one of squares and a monument to have in the very centre of Zagreb, Sanader
said.
