SARAJEVO, Oct 6 (Hina) - The commander of the UN peace-keeping
force in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Lt. Gen. Michael Rose, was looking at
a possibility of punitive actions against the Moslem-led Bosnian
government army for threatening the demilitarized zone on mounts
Igman and Bjelasnica near Sarajevo, UNPROFOR spokesman Major Koos
Sol told Hina this evening.
Major Sol said UNPROFOR was forced to examine a possibility of
concrete actions after several consecutive warnings to the Bosnian
army over its incursion into the demilitarized zone around Sarajevo
proved ineffective.
Major Sol said that Lt. Gen. Rose failed to travel to Pale
despite an earlier announcement by UN special envoy Yasushi Akashi.
He added that the Pale meeting had not been scheduled at all.
The spokesman said the humanitarian airlift into Sarajevo
could resume tomorrow afternoon.
Sarajevo airport was reopened today after a ten-day blockade
and the UN conducted two flights for the purposes of its troops.
