ZAGREB, July 14 (Hina) - Leaders of the Serbian National Party
(SNS) presented at today's press conference a new peace proposal on
the settlement of the conflict and political crisis in former
Yugoslavia, particularly in Croatia.
This proposal was made as a result of the rejection of the
first peace proposal of the SNS "Peace without alternative", which
had been presented in the end of last year, said deputy leader of
the SNS Veselin Pejnovic.
Leader of the SNS Milan Dukic stressed that the new peace
proposal was based on the resolution of the issue on Krajina
through granting the Serb minority full political autonomy in the
areas with predominant Serb population. "Serbs in Croatia will not
accept the status of national minority, but the status of a nation
with the right to self-determination without separation," said
Dukic.
Veselin Pejnovic said that the term of occupation
should be redefined because "those people who live somewhere 500
years cannot occupy that area, only paramilitary forces can do it."
