SARAJEVO, June 14 (Hina) - The Croatian delegation arrived in
Sarajevo to help speed up the implementation of the Washington and
Vienna accords, Croatian President Franjo Tudjman told reporters
following talks with Bosnian officials.
"The talks were very purposeful. We talked about ways to
achieve both the federation of Moslems and Croats and a
confederation (with Croatia), which is a precondition for the
normal functioning of the federation. I think this visit will serve
this purpose," Tudjman said.
"I wanted to see Sarajevo after all horrors it suffered, and
was very pleased to talk to Sarajevans in the streets," Tudjman
said.
President of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina Alija
Izetbegovic said both delegations agreed that two proposals should
be presented to the international community: that all republics
which emerged in the area of the former Yugoslavia should recognize
one another and that effective international control of the borders
of both Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina with Serbia and Montenegro
be established.
