ZAGREB, July 14 (Hina) - The secretary-general of the ruling
Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) party, issued a statement on
Thursday, informing the leaders of parliamentary opposition parties
about the HDZ's views of opposition proposals concerning the May 18
agreement on the distribution of leading posts in Parliament.
The statement said the HDZ was willing to insist on the
consistent implementation of the Agreement, but that it could not
accept that the legality and legitimacy of parliamentary sessions
and decisions were called into question, including the election of
speakers of both parliamentary chambers.
The HDZ believes that, at this politically decisive moment,
when the problems of occupied territories and establishment of a
just peace in Bosnia-Herzegovina are being solved, it would be best
that all deputies exercise their constitutional right and duty and
participate in the work of Parliament.
