PAZIN, July 7 (Hina) - The second session of the Council for Istria
was held today in Pazin. The session was attended by 12 out of 18
members.
As the Council's secretary, Bevio Setic, told reporers after
the session, discussed were the rules of procedure, the platform
and some proposals for the economic development of the county of
Istria.
"In order to put before the President and the authorities the
problems we see around us, we must first make a detailed study of
these problems and find a way to renew and give new energy to the
Croatian society in Istria, because we see many problems in this
area, particularly with the Croatian-Slovene border," said Sevic.
He alluded to territorial pretensions and the need to strengthen
the nation-building elements.
"The Council does not pretend to encroach on the prerogatives
of the county authorities," Sevic concluded.
