ZAGREB, July 3 (Hina) - The newly elected leadership of the
Croatian World Congress led by chairman Simun Sit Coric held a
press conference today in Zagreb after a three-day meeting of the
Congress. About 400 Croats from 30 countries participated in the
meeting.
The Congress will continue its previous activities and it
will pay special attention to Croats in South America who are the
poorest Croatian emigrants, said Coric.
"We will request the Croatian Parliament that it should find
a way in which Croatian emigrants could make their proposals to the
Parliament," said Coric.
He told journalists that Croatian emigrants will do
everything they can for the benefit of their country.
Talking about the number of Croatian emigrants, Coric said
that between 3 and 4.5 millions Croats live abroad.
"The most important thing is that we managed to gather
Croats from many countries and that we elected capable people to
executive committees and leadership of the Croatian World
Congress," concluded the chairman of the Congress at today's press
conference.
