ZAGREB, July 2 (Hina) - The 2nd convention of the Croatian World
Congress on Saturday heard the reports and suggestions of working
committees. The convention was attended by 400 participants from 30
countries.
The humanitarian and financial aid committee supported the
construction of hospitals in Vukovar and Nova Bila. The committe
also supported a project for helping Croatian emigrants who wished
to return to Croatia.
The convention adopted a proposal by the reconstruction and
investment committee that the diaspora should finance the
construction of a transmission-line network between Adriatic
islands.
The convention also adopted the education committee's
proposals for publishing new schoolbooks for Croatian children
abroad in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Culture
and for finding a technical solution to enable the reception of
Croatian radio and TV transmissions in far-away countries.
The convention also agreed that an Emigrants' Centre as well
as an international press centre should be set up in Zagreb. The
Convention recommended to the Government to set up an Office for
Promotion of Croatia in foreign countries.
