UNPROFOR COUNTS OVER 1,100 DETONATIONS IN MAJEVICA AREA

SARAJEVO, Apr 7 (Hina) - Heavy fighting between Bosnian Government army and Serb troops continued on Mt Majevica, northern Bosnia, the UN in Sarajevo said today. UN military observers have counted 1,100 detonations in the past 24 hours. Fierce fighting raged around the "Stolice" TV transmitter, which was still controlled by Serb forces - which were, however, completely encircled by the Bosnian army. According to UN estimates, the Bosnian army was advancing on Mt Vlasic and in central Bosnia. Unconfirmed reports spoke of the liberation of a stretch of land south of Mt Vlasic.
