SARAJEVO, April 1 (Hina) - Fighting continues between the Bosnian
Army troops and Bosnian Serbs for control over a radio and
television transmitter on the Stolice Plateau, Mt. Majevica,
northern Bosnia.
According to UNPROFOR spokesman in Sarajevo, Herve Gourmelon,
Protection Forces has counted monitored a large number of artillery
and mortar projectile detonations, fired from the Bosnian Army
positions, west of Stolice, in the past 24 hours.
Serbs returned artillery fire from their positions, near the
village of Podgora, UNPROFOR sources reported.
118 detonations in the Majevica region and 68 explosions in
the Kalesija surrounding have been registered in the past 24 hours.
UNPROFOR representatives could not say whether there had been
any infantry clashes or whether the separation line had been moved.
Free movement of 'blue helmets', already difficult because of
the snow, was further restricted by the warring sides in that
region.
