ZAGREB, Feb 26 (Hina) - The coordination board of Croatian public companies,
in charge of reintegrating Serb-run public companies in the UN-administered
Danube region into the Croatian system, held a closed-door meeting in Zagreb
on Wednesday.
"We have entered the final stage of the peaceful reintegration of
public companies in the Danube region of Croatia and today we have discussed
the takeover of employees and company premises and the establishment of
managing boards," chairman Ivan Majdak told reporters after the meeting.
Majdak said that the preparations for the reintegration of public
companies had been adjusted in cooperation with the UN Transitional
Administration (UNTAES) in the region.
The reintegration process in rail, postal and road companies was
proceeding in a satisfactory way, as opposed to the Croatian Forests company
where this process was slow, he added.
Majdak said that the talks also focused on the introduction of a
payment operations system as a precondition of the normal functioning of
life.
