ZAGREB, Feb 28 (Hina) - Eight Croatian opposition parties signed an
agreement on Friday on establishing a coordination committee for
monitoring local and parliamentary elections scheduled for April
13.
The coordination committee includes the Croatian Social
Liberal Party (HSLS), the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS), the Social
Democratic Party (SDP), the Croatian People's People (HNS), the
Istrian Democratic Party (IDS), the Action of Social Democrats of
Croatia (ASH), the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP 1861) and the
Croatian Pensioners' Party (HSU).
Opposition representatives told a news conference in Zagreb
that about 50,000 observers would be needed to monitor the election
process at about 10,000 polling stations.
