"This is the second emergency reconstruction loan," explained
Deputy Finance Minister Mijo Jukic, adding that US$ 72 million
would be allocated to reconstruction and US$ 30 million to mine
clearing.
The whole reconstuction and minesweeping project is worth US$
112.3. The remaining US$ 22.3 million will be provided by the
Croatian Government.
The Government also adopted a Bill of Amendments to the
Firearms Act, extending the deadline for the buyout and
legalisation of firearms for another 6 months.
Following objections by members of the public over the
publication of personal data of persons who had bought former
Yugoslav army and other state-owned flats, the Government decided
to restrict such data to reports submitted to parliamentary bodies.
The Government increased customs duties on fresh and frozen
baby beef, beef, mutton, preserves, processed food, chewing gums
containing sugar and ice-cream. Customs duties on peppers,
tangerines, watermelon, pears and quince were reduced. The
Government also introduced stiffer quality control requirements for
the export and import breeding cattle.
