ZAGREB, Jan 29 (Hina) - The Croatian Government has issued a decree
that a Croatian Agriculture Advisory Institute is established. The
Institute's tasks will be to counsel family farms and smallholdings
about agriculture and to restore and keep heritage of rural areas.
The Institute will participate in making and carrying out the
agricultural policy of the Croatian Government, and advise on how
to maintain the environmental balance.
Means for the establishment of the Institute and the beginning
of its work, worth 6.7 million kuna (US$ 1.2 million), have been
earmarked from the 1997 state budget.
At proposals of the Agriculture and Forestry Ministry, the
Croatian Government will name the head and two members of the
administrative board that will run the institute.
