PAZIN, Jan 18 (Hina) - The former Prefect of Istrian County,
Luciano Delbianco, lost a vote of confidence on Saturday's session
of Istrian County's Assembly.
The Assembly elected the Pula Mayor and a former Sub-Prefect,
Stevo Zufic, to be the Prefect.
Besides the current Sub-Prefect Loredana Bogliun-Debeljuh,
Valter Drandic, the leader of the Pula branch of the IDS (Istrian
Democratic Alliance) party, was elected to the post of Sub-Prefect.
Former heads of the financial department and local self-
government and government department, Zdravka Cukon and Nenad Pajic
respectively, were replaced by Silvana Kostesic and Marino Folo.
Istrian County's Assembly is obliged to inform the Croatian
Government of the new Prefect's election in 24 hours. Within eight
days the Government is to propose to the Croatian President whether
to confirm or reject the election of the Prefect.
