Recalling that Croatia had been recognized by the
international community on 15 January 1992, House President
Katica Ivanisevic pointed out the crucial role of Croatian
President Franjo Tudjman and the courage of the Croatian
people.
The sufferings of Croatian soldiers had not been in vain
and would not be forgotten, she said.
In a short discussion about the suggested agenda,
Zvonimir Bartolic (Croatian Democratic Union, HDZ), recalled
that this year marked the 150th anniversary of the
introduction of the Croatian language into the Parliament
(until then Latin was the official language) and all other
institutions.
Bartolic suggested that the Upper House celebrate this
important anniversary.
The House of Counties continued its session with a
discussion about the final Bill on Counties, Municipalities
and towns in Croatia.
