BOSNIAN PARLIAMENT LOWER HOUSE CONFIRMS GOVT APPOINTMENTS

SARAJEVO, Jan 3 (Hina) - The Bosnia-Herzegovina Parliament House of Representatives held a session in Sarajevo on Friday at which it confirmed the decision of the Bosnian Presidency on the appointment of co-presidents of the Council of Ministers. Haris Silajdzic and Boro Bosic have been officially appointed as co-presidents of the Council and will take turns each week.
SARAJEVO, Jan 3 (Hina) - The Bosnia-Herzegovina Parliament House of Representatives held a session in Sarajevo on Friday at which it confirmed the decision of the Bosnian Presidency on the appointment of co-presidents of the Council of Ministers. Haris Silajdzic and Boro Bosic have been officially appointed as co-presidents of the Council and will take turns each week. #L# The Lower House also confirmed the nominations of other members of the Council of Ministers whose deputy president is Neven Tomic, Bosnian Foreign Minister remains Jadranko Prlic, Foreign Trade and Economy Minister is Hasan Muratovic and Civil Issues and Communications Minister is Spasoje Albijanic. The Council of Ministers also includes six deputy ministers. The MP's also nominated heads of the House of Representatives at Friday's session. Lots were cast and it was decided that the first president would be a Croat, so, Ivo Lozancic was elected with most votes to that post. Deputy president from the Serb side is Slobodan Bijedic and from the Moslem side Halid Genjac. In a brief address to the MP's Haris Silajdzic called on the international community to provide more decisive assistance to Bosnia "so that the start of a new big war in the region could be prevented". Boro Bosic cited the reconstruction of the country as the most important task. President of the Bosnian Presidency Alija Izetbegovic stressed that the assembly of members of parliament represented true proof that all sides agreed that the Dayton Agreement had to be implemented. A member of the Presidency, Kresimir Zubak, warned that a new system of authority had to be created in Bosnia-Herzegovina, with respecting the fact that there were two equal entities in the country and three peoples. Another member of the Bosnian Presidency Momcilo Krajisnik said that everyone had accepted Bosnia's existence through the peace agreement, stressing that it can be sustained only if everyone in Bosnia felt equal and safe.
