STRASBOURG, Jan 29 (Hina) - The Council of Europe
Parliamentary Assembly on Wednesday adopted a Resolution on
the situation in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. #L#
The Resolution, adopted with only one vote against, calls
on the regime in Belgrade to implement the recommendations of
the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)
and to accept the results of local elections, as well as to
refrain from using force with demonstrators.
The resolution calls on the authorities in FRY to fully
respect the principles of pluralist democracy, human rights,
including the freedom of media and principles of a law-based
state in Kosovo, Vojvodina and Sandzak.
The Resolution stresses that FRY has to strictly respect
the Dayton peace accords and to cooperate with the
International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia
(ICTY).
