Peasant Party andthe Croatian Party of Pensioners, namely the SDP-HSS-HSU list, won40.40 percent of the vote in the capital of Zagreb.
ZAGREB, May 15 (Hina) - According to the preliminary results
released by the Zagreb election commission on Sunday evening, the coalition
list of the Social Democratic Party, the Croatian Peasant Party and the
Croatian Party of Pensioners, namely the SDP-HSS-HSU list, won 40.40 percent
of the vote in the capital of Zagreb. According to the returns from
26 the 594 polling stations which were opened in Zagreb for Sunday's local
polls, the list of the Croatian Democratic Union, the Social Liberal Party and
the DC, i.e. the HDZ-HSLS-DC list, was second with 15.16 percent.
It is followed by the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) with 11.36 percent
and the Croatian People's Party (HNS) with 8.77 percent of the vote. The lists
of independent candidates Tatjana Holjevac and of Boris Miksic passed the
electoral threshold, winning 7.23 and 5.62 percent of the vote,
respectively.
The elections were held without any serious problem.
