VIENNA, March 1 (Hina) - Walter Schwimmer, a member of the Crans
Montana Forum Board and former Council of Europe secretary general, said on
Wednesday that Croatia was a very good example of stability and security in
Southeast Europe and that it should serve as a model to other countries in the
region in the process of integration with the European Union and economic
development. Schwimmer was speaking at a press conference in the
Croatian Embassy in Vienna ahead of a meeting of the Crans Montana Forum
scheduled to take place in Zagreb from 5 to 7 April.
He noted that Europe's stability and security depended on security in
the southeast of the continent and that the countries in Southeast Europe
needed support on their path to European integration.
Schwimmer said that the meeting, the second to be held in Zagreb, would
be an opportunity to further promote economic development and cooperation and
attract foreign investment in the region.
