ZAGREB, Feb 21 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks met his Austrian counterpart Andreas Khol in Vienna on Tuesday during a day-long official visit.

"Europe is not complete without Croatia, and just as Mozart belongs to Austria so Croatia belongs to Europe," Khol told reporters after the meeting.

"Austria and Croatia have excellent bilateral cooperation. Our cooperation is so good that we have no outstanding issues," he added.

The two officials discussed the progress of Croatia's negotiations with the European Union on membership of the bloc and agreed on further parliamentary cooperation, with Austria offering Croatia all the necessary assistance.

"The main focus of the talks was on deepening operational parliamentary cooperation through an exchange of experience and information," Seks said, adding that Austria was providing valuable help to Croatia in the process of legislative adjustment to the EU and the accession talks.

Seks said that cooperation and friendship between Zagreb and Vienna would facilitate Croatia's accession to the European Union.

Khol said that the EU-Croatia talks would last for some time during which the Union would introduce changes that would enable admission of further members. During its EU presidency, Austria and Finland as its successor will draw up a timetable for further enlargement, he added.

Earlier in the day, Seks met Werner Fasslabend, chairman of the Austrian Parliament's Permanent Committee on the European Union. He was also scheduled to meet Austrian President Heinz Fischer.
