186).
ZAGREB, Feb 23 (Hina) - The 94th maritime session of the
International Labour Organisation (ILO), which started on 7 February, ended in
Geneva on Thursday with the adoption of a convention on seamen labour rights
(Convention ILO 186). Croatia's delegation was led by a state
secretary for sea affairs Branko Bacic. The delegation included representatives
of the government, employers (shipping companies) and Croatia seamen trade
union.
There are some 1.2 million active seamen in the world, of which 32,280
come from Croatia. A total of 6,280 Croatian seamen sail under Croatian flag
and 26,000 sail on foreign boats.
