The ministry issued a statement on Wednesday reiterating its position on this issue after Slovenia yesterday notified the United Nations of its law declaring the protected ecological zone and continental shelf in the Adriatic.
The UN Secretary-General was informed of the law by official note given that the UN is the depository of the international convention on maritime law, the Slovene Foreign Ministry said in a press release today.
The Croatian ministry recalled that on 25 August 2005 the Ivo Sanader cabinet expressed its position on the matter assessing that the Slovene move was legally unfounded and invalid.
