In this way he reiterated his criticism of the Croatian weekly Nacional which published controversial cartoons of Prophet Muhammad, and said this was a bad editorial move of the paper.
Asked by reporters whether the government was taking security measures in the wake of the weekly's move, the premier said his cabinet was following the situation and was prepared to react according to further developments.
He added that the government possessed no information about a possible boycott of Croatian products in Islamic countries.
Sanader believes that the publication of the Prophet Muhammad cartoons is contrary to pillars of the contemporary democracy.
"This is the same as when somebody mocks Jesus Christ," Sanader said referring to 'Zlikavci', a controversial cartoon show, in the style of South Park. broadcast by the national television (HTV).
The Croatian government repudiates it, Sanader said adding that the modern democracy is based on the respect for others.
Sanader gave these comments during his visit to the town of Deanovac east of Zagreb on Wednesday.
The association of the Croatian Association of Catholic Journalists on Wednesday issued a statement condemning the publication of the cartoons which it describes as blasphemous cartoons.
