The statement, signed by the Muslim party's leader Semso Tankovic, said the "publication of insulting caricatures is the promotion of evil" and that "the constitutions of all countries clearly and unambiguously say that any promotion or incitement of hatred and intolerance is a punishable act".
"Playing with some special rights, like 'freedom of the media' for example, is just an excuse for media terrorism against Muslims to gain an even stronger presence in the world media," said Tankovic.
He went on to say that "Bosniaks are especially sensitive to such distortions of reality because the years-long campaign against Islam by Serb 'orientalists' served to Serb nationalists as justification for crimes in Bosnia, Sandzak, Kosovo, and Croatia".
SDAH "welcomes statements from the Vatican and Jewish religious officials who rose against the authors and newspapers that gave space to those caricatures" and "shares the position of the UN leader condemning the attack on the highest religious institutions".
In the statement, the party also distanced itself from the uncontrolled reactions of the Islamic faithful in some states against innocent people and property.
