"We regret that Nacional published it. They see it as their right and will take the consequences in circulation terms. We are pleased with the statement from the Croatian government which defends religious convictions," Omerbasic said in an interview with Croatian Catholic Radio on Tuesday.
Omerbasic said that he supported freedom of the media and fully understood that the government could not restrict media freedoms.
"However, where media freedom encroaches on the rights of others and violates them, in particular the rights of religious communities, we have to say that we find such freedom irresponsible. We believe everyone in Croatia will understand what is happening with Muslims," Omberbasic said.
