ANKARA, Feb 1 (Hina) - Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu
supported Croatia's and Turkey's drawing closer to the European Union during
talks with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on Wednesday,
Turkish media said. Popescu, whose country is due to join the EU in
2007 alongside Bulgaria, supported Ankara in the negotiations opened with
Brussels, and said Romania favoured the swift accession of Croatia as well.
The EU launched entry negotiations with Croatia and Turkey on 3 October
2005.
