OSIJEK, April 17 (Hina) - The Osijek County Court on Monday adopted a decision granting the County Prosecutor's Office's request to extend detention for six suspects in the so-called Sellotape war crimes case and to set detention for independent member of parliament Branimir Glavas, the court said on its website on Tuesday.

Detention was set for Glavas and extended for the six other suspects due to the gravity of the crime they were charged with, the court said, adding that the decision could be appealed within 48 hours. The Supreme Court will decide on the appeal but it does not stay the execution of the court's decision.

The Osijek County Prosecutor's Office yesterday indicted the seven suspects for the murder of 10 persons and one attempted murder in the eastern city of Osijek in 1991, requesting that detention be extended for six suspects and set for Glavas.

Numerous reporters waited in front of the building Glavas lives in from early afternoon yesterday until early morning today in case he was placed in custody. At the moment it is not known when Glavas will be placed in custody or if he will turn himself in.
