They said prices retraced losses accumulated over the past two days, but are likely to remain in their recent trading range amid a dearth of fundamental news. USDA will release its December supply and demand report Dec 12. Industry sources expect the USDA to raise its estimate for the U.S. crop, which was pegged at 18.59 million 480-lb bales in November. March settled up 0.85 cent at 75.60 cents a lb, traded 76.10 to 74.65 cents. The back months finished 1.06 to 0.62 higher. Volume was estimated at 10,000 lots. While most market sources called today's export and sales report disappointing, at least one dealer said new sales looked strong when taken in the context of an abbreviated week. He said the 80,600 bales in new sales reported for the week ended Nov 28, may have triggered some of the shortcovering. 061058 MET dec 96
