A floor source noted some light trade buying helping to lift the market. December cotton settled 0.17 cent firmer at 71.54 cents per pound, traded 71.85 to 71.20 cents. Volume was estimated at 8,200 lots, lower than Wednesday's heavy 13,232 lots. Traders said Thursday's USDA export sales figures were slightly lower than expected, but failed to impact the market significantly. 081057 MET nov 96
