The palm oil sector was looking now towards exports/stock/output data due from Malaysia's Palm Oil Registration and Licensing Authority (PORLA). Other data due out on Monday was Cargo surveyor SGS (M) Sdn Bhd June 1-15 palm oil export data. The palm oils ended Friday unchanged to $5 easier than Thursday's close. No trade was reported in the afternoon. During the morning, olein traded Jun, Jul and Sep at $557.50 and $555 and $550 respectively. Palm stearin changed hands at $380 for Aug/Sep. Crop forecaster Ivan Wong's estimate of Malaysia's palm oil output/stocks data in May was seen by traders as neutral. Wong estimated Malaysia's palm oil output in May to have risen by 6.4 percent to 780,000 tonnes over April, and palm oil stocks at the end of May at 740,000 tonnes, compared with the Palm Oil Registration and Licensing Authority's (PORLA) 697,714 tonnes at end-April. Soy oil closed 0.50 guilders firmer in line with Chicago. Some shortcovering was noted on the soy oil following the firmer start by Chicago futures, but the actual volume was said to have been small. Soy oil traded Jun at 107.75 and Jul at 107 guilders. Coconut oil ended $2.50 to $5 firmer. Business was light but ranged from Jun/Jul at $642.50 and $645 to Jul/Aug at $640.
