The palm oil sector slipped due to the lack of interest and a lower values on the Chicago soybean oil futures. At the finish the palm oils were $2.50 to $7.50 easier than Monday's close. Only two trades were reported, one was for crude palm oil at $545 for Jul/Sep, while the other was for Jul olein at $567. "There was a bit of bullish news for the palm oils today but this was countered by lower Chicago," one trader said. A true picture of the soft oils direction was hard to come by, as there were no quotes in this sector on Monday with most of Europe away. Soft oil selling levels versus their midday levels were around 0.25 to 0.50 guilders easier. One trade was reported in this sector, this was for Aug/Oct rapeoil at 102 guilders per 100 kilos. Coconut oil which also wasn't quoted on Monday, ended unchanged to $7.50 down on Tuesday's levels at midday. Jul/Aug traded at $630.
