The firm dollar against major European currency remained the dominant factor but during the afternoon sellers trimmed in an attempt to attract buyers. Lower Chicago futures had only a limited impact. Palm oil prices were little changed throughout the day following the mixed close in Malaysia. At the close soy oil sellers were one to two guilders up after May traded at 101.75 and May/Jul at 102 guilders a 100 kilos fob ex-mill. Rape oil offers were 0.75 to one guilders up after Aug/Oct traded at 101 guilders. Crude palm oil cif Europe closed unchanged while products were unchanged to $2.50 higher with no further business reported. Among lauric oils coconut oil was mixed at $2.50 down to $5 up while palmkernel oil sellers were $5 down to unchanged in tradeless markets.
