The potential for fresh falls was arrested by a modest bounce on the Chicago soybean oil futures from losses seen there on Monday. Soft oil selling levels ended 0.50 to one guilder down. Trade was seen on May/Jul soy oil at 98.75 and 99 guilders and Aug/Oct at 100.25. The palm oil sector bolstered by the exports from Malaysia, spent the day around $2.50 either side of Monday's close. During the afternoon palm stearin traded a small amount of April at $432.50, while crude palm oil business ranged from March and April both at $550-$552, to a switch from Apr/Jun in to Oct/Dec at a $7.50 spread. The lauric oils remained unchanged from their opening levels, which were $2.50 up to $2.50 down. Coconut oil traded at $720 and $715 for Apr/May and Jun/Jul respectively.
