Early trade on the Chicago soybean oil futures resulted in a limit-up movement on the back of a USDA correction on Tuesday to its soybean stocks figure to 1.056 billion bushels from 1.078 billion bushels released on Monday. Tuesdsay's limit-up move turned around fortunes seen on Monday in Chicago when the market there posted losses. "I think traders in Europe are not sure what to do for the best. Soy oil prices are little changed from midday but if Chicago keeps going like it started, then who knows where we'll be tomorrow," one trader said. No trade was reported on soy or rape oil, which nominally closed 0.50 guilders easier and 0.50 to one guilder firmer respectively. The palm oil sector ended $2.50 to $7.50 above its pre-Easter holiday close. During the afternoon the only trade in this sector was for May olein at $576. Coconut oil slipped back under a general lack of interest, but then managed to stimulate a meagre volume of business. May/Jun coconut oil sold for $720 and $717.50.
