In the absense of market moving factors, traders had hoped for a clear direction from Chicago following recent volatility there, but early indication in the U.S. also looked mixed. "Chicago's opening stance hasn't helped matters," one trader said. At the close the palm oil sector was unchanged to $2.50 easier, having been up to $5 firmer at midday. Trade was sparse during the afternoon, with $582.50 paid for Apr palm olein and $560 for Jul/Sep crude palm oil. Soy oil finished unchanged to one guilder lower. One trade was reported for Apr at 99 guilders. Coconut oil fell to $2.50 to $5 below Tuesday's close, with trade ranging from $730 on Feb/Mar to $725 and $720 on Apr/May as the market went in to mild decline.
