WASHINGTON, May 6 (Hina) - The World Bank will make an official decision on approving a loan for the reconstruction of the Old Bridge ("Stari Most") in Mostar ahead of a donors conference for Bosnia-Herzegovina, scheduled for the end
of this month. The loan, valued four million dollars, will be granted in accordance of the standards IDA conditions, which means under very favourable conditions, the head of this project in the World Bank, Adrianne Nassau, said in Washington on Thursday. A total value of the project for renovating the historical downtown of the southern city of Mostar is evaluated at about 16 million dollars, whereas the reconstruction the Old Bridge may cost some 7.5 million. The rest of money will be ensured by the city of Mostar, some funds have been promised by Turkey, and we hope that we will receive the support at the forthcoming donors conference, Nassau said. After the money is ensured, the UNESCO and the Mostar commission will invite tenders from contractors and will choose together the best bids. In the old downtown of Mostar there are another 15 cultural and historical monuments which must be reconstructed. The World Bank would like that each of them gets a donor which will help the
