ZAGREB, Nov 26 (Hina) - UNHCR Humanitarian convoys left Friday from
several points towards B-H although with certain difficulties, according
to the UNHCR spokesperson Alemka Lisinski.
The 10-truck convoy carrying 120 tons of humanitarian aid from Zagreb
stopped during the night in Banja Luka from where it went on to Banja
Luka, and on to Zenica. Unfortunately, the convoy did not get the
military pass certificate at Pale. Without Bosnian Serbs' police escort
it went on through the Serbian controlled territory. Before reaching
Travnik, in Turbe, the convoy should be taken over by UNPROFOR. For the
moment the convoy has managed to pass through two Serbian check points,
according to Lisinski.
On Thursday another convoy bound for central Bosnia and carrying the
same quantity of aid started from Metkovic, and continued on Stolac-Foca
route with final destination in Zenica.
A third convoy started from Belgrade to Srebrenica. UNHCR reported that
it was stopped at the border between the F.R. Yugoslavia and B-H in
Zvornik. UNHCR spokesperson stated that it is an important convoy since
it transports 12 trucks of important winter supplies, which had not been
allowed so far by the Bosnian Serbs. They did not allow passage this
time again, stating that the road conditions are poor.
Just after 10:00 Friday a convoy for Sarajevo left Belgrade.
The local convoys for Herzegovina, one of which was forwarded for
Posusje today, have not met any obstacles so far, UNHCR spokesperson
stated.
