ZAGREB, Nov 22 (Hina) - The UN High Commission for Refugees is
still awaiting written permissions from Bosnian Croat, Moslem and
Serb authorities for free passage of relief convoys in Bosnia-
Herzegovina, said a UNHCR spokeswoman in Zagreb on Monday. She
said that the reason for this was probably the regular technical
procedure which took time, adding that UNPROFOR had sent a
request for passage to the three parties to the conflict last
Friday.
As soon as we get the permissions, convoys will set out for
central Bosnia from Zagreb via Banja Luka to Zenica.
UNHCR convoys to central Bosnia were suspended a month ago after
a Danish convoy driver had been killed.
The warring parties in Bosnia-Herzegovina agreed in Geneva last
Thursday, at a meeting with UN High Commissioner for Refugees
Sadako Ogata, to provide unimpeded passage for aid convoys
throughout Bosnia-Herzegovina.
