ZAGREB, Dec 15 (Hina) - Local Serb officials this morning cleared a
Cazin-bound UNHCR convoy, detained at Moscenica check-point, near
Sisak, yesterday afternoon, UNHCR spokesman Alemka Lisinski said
today.
"The convoy, which left Zagreb yesterday, is to be inspected
in Petrinja," Lisinski said.
She added that the Serbs explained the delay "in the usual
way, saying that they had not got approval from Knin authorities".
The UNHCR convoy included 10 trucks carrying 106 tones of food
for Cazin.
Knin authorities refused to grant passage to 146 UN aid
convoys in the last six months, allowing through only 13 convoys.
"These 13 convoys brought some 1,000 tonnes of food", Lisinski
said, "but the civilian population's monthly needs amount to about
1,900 tonnes, according to our estimates" she added.
