SARAJEVO, Oct 3 (Hina) - Two convoys with provisions for UN peace-
keepers in Sarajevo and Gorazde were allowed passage this morning
through a Serb check point at Kobiljaca near Sarajevo.
The convoys were blocked all day yesterday despite promises
pledged by Serb leaders in talks with UNPROFOR officials at Pale on
Saturday.
UN spokeswoman Claire Grimes told reporters in Sarajevo today
that a note of strong protest had been sent to Serb military and
political leaders yesterday after the Saturday agreement had been
circumvented.
Shortly before midnight last night, the Serbs confirmed they
would allow the convoys through.
UNHCR spokesman Kris Janowsky said two humanitarian aid
convoys were dispatched from Belgrade to Gorazde this morning.
UNHCR is planning to send more food convoys this week to
alleviate the grave humanitarian situation in Gorazde, Janowsky
said.
